What is Home Health Aide?

The Home Health Aide Training Program is structured to provide knowledge and skills needed to function as a home health aide in a client's private home setting. Students who complete the course will also be awarded 24 units of continuing education credit hours which can be used when renewing their Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.

What are the requirements for the H.H.A class?

  • Possess a valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate
  • Possess a High School Diploma, Transcript, GED or Equivalent. If none, ATB test (Wonderlic $10)
  • Minimum age requirement at 16 years of age with parents' consent
  • Meet the required health requirements such as history and a Physical Exam performed by a Physician or Nurse Practitioner and a negative P.P.D. skin test or Negative Chest X-ray (if P.P.D. test result is Positive) indicationg no active tuberculosis
  • Must not have been convicted in any court of law of any major crime.
  • Valid I.D. and Social Security Card
  • Certified in B.L.S. (Basic Life Support) by the American Heart Association

Home Health Aide Class Schedule:

AM Class (5 days)

  • Theory - Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 4:30pm
  • Clinical - Monday - Friday: 7:00am - 3:30pm

PM Class(8 days)

  • Theory - Monday - Friday: 4:00pm - 9:15pm
  • Clinical - Monday - Friday: 2:45pm - 8:00pm
